Wispr FlowThe keyboard replacement
Wispr Flow is a fast, polished keyboard replacement. Hold a hotkey, talk, and clean text lands wherever your cursor is, across Mac, Windows, iPhone, and Android. It learns your vocabulary, strips filler words, and stays out of the way. If your goal is to stop typing and nothing more, it does that well.
It processes everything in the cloud, so it needs a connection to work at all. Its Styles are four presets that set capitalization and punctuation by app, in English only. For a real rewrite it has Transforms, a beta that polishes text you select or runs your own prompt on it. It cannot transcribe an audio file you upload.
SuperWhisperThe configurable one
SuperWhisper is built for developers and power users who want control over their transcription stack. It runs local Whisper models on Apple Silicon for fully offline processing, and lets you choose between AI providers, build custom modes, and fine-tune how transcription behaves. If configuration is your thing, it goes deep.
Rewriting needs the Pro plan. On the free plan you get up to two modes, and they don't rewrite your words. There is no web version, and the iOS experience is thinner than the desktop.

AudioPen does everything the other two do, and then some. It voice types into any app on Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, and Android. It gives you a notes library you can open from any browser, on any device. And it rewrites. You speak freely, ramble, lose your thread, and AudioPen turns what you said into clear, finished writing in a style and language you choose. Train it on your own writing and it sounds like you.
If you want pure verbatim dictation and nothing else, AudioPen does more than you need. Most people find that is a good problem to have.

You get back finished writing, not a raw transcript. SuperWhisper handles file transcription on desktop, but the iPhone app cannot import audio files directly. Wispr Flow is built for live dictation only and does not support file uploads.

Most helpful AI tool = audiopen. Been using it daily to do things like: turn voicenotes into action items, content ideas (magic for this), summarize calls, giving feedback. The UI is also so clean that it’s an absolute joy to use.
You speak to it as thoughts come in. It stitches a fine narrative from the rant. Writers can edit a ‘wrong’ page, not a ‘blank’ page. AudioPen gets you to 90% and then you do the rest.
